Chicken Soup- A Welcome Meal on the Cold Days

A hot bowl of chicken soup is indeed a welcome meal on any cold day as it soothes a sore throat and keeps the nasal passages moist. Also, a healthy chicken soup filled with vegetables eases the cold and flu symptoms. The best thing is that your mother can never say “no” to it.

You can prepare chicken soup recipe easily. For serving 4 people, it will take just 1hour and 05 minutes in this preparation. The main ingredients needed for making chicken soup recipe are 3 to 4 pound chicken, 6 peeled carrots, 1 large yellow onion (quartered), 4 celery stalks, 1 tsp whole black peppercorns and 2 1/2 tsp salt.

For making chicken soup, firstly, keep the chicken in a large pot. Chop 3 carrots, 2 celery stalks into small pieces and cut up the onion. Now, add the chopped vegetables to the pot with the peppercorns, salt, and sufficient cold water to fill (almost 8 cups). Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook for about 30 minutes until the chicken is cooked properly. Thereafter, empty the chicken to a bowl to let it cool down. Strain the soup to put back to the pot while discarding the vegetables. Cut the remaining celery and carrot finely and add them to the broth. Simmer and heat for about 10 minutes until it gets tender. Slice the chicken when it is cooled and add to the soup. Serve the soup in all the bowls.
